St. Patrick's Day Birthday Card I

My sweet, amazing father-in-law turns 87 this week. He is a proud Irishman and we are celebrating his birthday on St. Patrick's Day! We, hs extended family, have rented out a community hall to accomodate his 5 children, their 5 spouses, his 19 grandchildren, 14 grandchildren-in-love, 10 great grandchildren and 2 more on the way! Phew! And yep, the math took me a minute.

This totals 55 plus the man himself!

I made two fun cards, one will be from my husband (the youngest and best of the children) and myself, the second will be from our two youngest children (grandchidren 18 and 19!)

I will feature the first card on this blog post!

I used "Simply Charmed" and cut the leprechaun at 3.5". The shamrocks are from "Spring Holiday Cards" and are cut at 1.5", 2" and 2.5".

I cut the "coil" from a flower from "Art Philosophy" since I am eagerly anticipating my Papertrey Ink die to arrive...

The card is a clear card from CTMH. I printed the leprechaun hair and face on white aper on my Imagine, and pribted his other layers using my stock colours. I then used my AMAZING Spectrum Noir pens to colour his skin and hair.

Sadly his eyebrows were lost in cutting. Poor fella.

Autumn Wreath

I have been really inspired by lots of the fall projects I have seen online lately, and wanted to try my hand at a wreath as well. I found these woody wreaths at Michael's this week: two for five dollars! What a deal!

I used the new Cricut Circle Exclusive Sophie cart, as well as Art Philosphy and Art Nouveau. I distressed some of the leafs and flowers with my copics, and when done I glimmermisted the whole thing.

Red Velvet Cupcake Bliss

My husband and I were invited to a staff barbecue for my new job. We were supposed to bring enough dessert for 6 people. I made - FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER IN MY LIFE - Red Velvet Cupcakes with cream cheese icing - FROM SCRATCH. Not only that - but ALSO FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER IN MY LIFE - frosted them!! It was so fun! My little Gracie and I were squealing with delight at how they turned out and SO YUMMY.

Of course I had to make some cute little holders for them....enter Sweet Tooth Boxes! I didn't use a lid - and I made my own handle. Remember my skunk project? I had a few flower sets leftover and they went perfectly on the edges of the handle. I used CTMH paper - Sweet Leaf - and Sunset. Yummy. I then heat embossed some cupcake stamps - no idea what brand since I got them at Michael's a long time ago.

I used a MS punch on the stop handle and VOILA!! Perfection!

Everybody made an appropriately big fuss, and loved the cupcakes.

Family Frame

I have really wanted to 'branch out' into Home Decor - not my strong suit, and nothing I am too familiar with. But I am so inspired by fellow crafter's blogs and posts that I thought I would try something! I used the following:

8 x 10 picture frame, glass removed
Cardstock from stash
Sweet Leaf (CTMH) Carstock
CTMH Topiary Ink
CTMH Sweet Leaf Ink
CTMH Wings paper
CTMH Opaques
Cricut Art Nouveau Cartridge
Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge (CTMH)
Cricut Damask Decor
Cricut Storybook
Cricut Gypsy Font
CTMH Dimensionals
CTMH Flax - Sorbet
Spellbinders
Martha Stewart punch
My Pink Stamper Stamps

I began with the flower vine from Art Nouveau and built from there, layering like crazy and using pop dots. I still wasn't quite satisfied so I added some cut and embossed Spellbinders flowers and punched the side base paper with a Martha Stewart punch. I used various My Pink Stamper stamps to stamp "Treasure", "Scripture Power" and "Heart & Soul".

EXCLUSIVE Cricut Cart from CTMH!

The Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge is only sold as part of a set right now through your CTMH consultant. It comes with three full stamp sets THAT COORDINATE WITH THE IMAGES ON THE CARTRIDGE and three sheets of chipboard elements, all for only $99! The stamp sets would be $17 each, if purchased alone, and the chipboard sets would be $5 each, totalling $66.00! Meaning you get the EXCLUSIVE full sized Cricut Cartridge for only $33.00. It is a full sized cart, including two great fonts, many tags and awesome extras. My favourite part is that the new Idea Book (which can be viewed online) indicates which other stamps coordinate with images on this cartridge if you want to build your Stamp/Cricut library. (And who doesn’t??)
