Penguin Pop-Up

My sweet little girl was under the weather this week, so I made her this fun little card using Cricut Everyday Pop-Up Cards. I'm shocked to realize I hadn't used this....ever!

Gina K. Papers cut DIVINELY on the Cricut, and I used some of her gorgeous gingham ribbon as well.

I highlighted the heart with a Copic slightly darker than the yellow paper.

Pretty Bird Card

This card combines a bunch of my FAVOURITE things: my new Spellbinders Grand Calibur, colouring with my markers, stamping...AND Cricut! And to top it off, another new favourite passion: hand dyed rayon seam binding. I love how my ribbon came out so juicy - and matching exactly how I wanted it.

Thank You Rosette Card

LOOOOOVE (opera voice) Art Philosophy by CTMH!!!

I cut the card and flowers from the Art Philosophy Cart, the rosette from Ribbons and Rosettes. I cut the doily from Cheery Lynn Designs on my Spellbinders Grand Calibur. The ribbon is sorbet from CTMH. I inked the edges with Creme Brulee.

Train Window Card

My little fella turns 4 this week, as does his cousin! We are having a combined birthday party for the two wee fellas tomorrow night. It's very fun because my guy is the 19th and last grandson, and my great-nephew is the first great grandson!

I wanted to make a window card like I have seen in the CTMH Idea Books. I had NO IDEA how hard this would be - peeling back the top layers, making the inside look somewhat neat and tidy...but I am thrilled with the final product.

Everything is CTMH except the Copic colouring!

Mayberry Rosette

Mayberry is a beautiful, now retired, paper set from CTMH. I collected a bunch of it last year...(oops!!) and LOVE using it for scrapbook layouts and cards. I made the rosette from Cricut Ribbons and Rosettes. I used my new Stampin' Up Scoring Tool. I like this SO much better than the Scor-Pal because there are score lines EVERY 1/8" inch. That makes scoring the rosettes you cut on the Cricut VERY easy and VERY quick.

The doily is from Cheery Lynn designs.

I also used my new Papertrey Ink die to cut the spiral for the inside, and attached some Mayberry Stickease. Since they didn't cover completely I dabbed my finger in talcum powder and gently rubbed the exposed area of the stickers so they would unstick.

For My Sweet Daughter...

My amazing step daughter is inspiring to me. She works crazy hours, she's also in university, and just moved out on her own with roommates. I'm SO proud of her. She's also suffered some loss in her life and just keeps her chin up...always positive, and always thinking of others. (To her detriment.)

Another reason she inspires me is how much she loves my children...her little sister and brother. She was 16 when my daughter was born, and 18 when her little brother came around. She has loved them unconditionally even though she didn't ask for them (or me!) to be in her life! They ADORE her!

She's been a bit blue lately, Gee, really?? Stress from university, working, and just being a gorgeous 22 year old will do that to you.

I love you so much, sweetheart. This one is for you. I cried when I read the sentiment.

Now for the details...

Sadly, I KILLED MY CUTTLEBUG today while trying to make the doily! Yes, it's a sad day. But my DH took me to the local scrapbooking store and bought me the new Spellbinders GRAND CALIBUR!!! What an upgrade! WAHOOO!!!!

Apparently it won't work with Sizzix dies - they're too fat. But I only use Spellbinders dies and Cuttlebug folders for embossing. Easy peasy.

SO......the doily is from Cheery Lynn, the labels are from Spellbinders, as is the flower. Darnit - I'm going to have to REALLY work hard to remember to put the dies in edge UP - not edge DOWN like my Cuttlebug...

The papers (except the kraft) are from Stella CTMH. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this medley. Stunning. The beautiful striped ribbon is also a CTMH gem! I sewed on a Gina K button with some twin, and DONE!! Of course I inked the edges.

ENJOY.
